Kimono Shawl

OK…I started this shawl a couple of times.  The first time I used two strands of lace-weight, one was lavender and the other was wine.  The mix of colors and the combined weight obscured the pattern so much that it just did not work.  So, HH said leave it one the needles and start the other in just the lavender.   So, I took his suggestion and knit up to the same point, one repeat, and discovered that he was so right….it needs to be one color and one strand.  HH is always right!  So…here’s so,e of the progress.  By the way…I love this pattern.  I can not wait to give it to the intended recipient!

I’m sure I saw this one several times while I was at home and I’m more of a touchy feely person so I usually like things up close better but I was just taken aback by the beauty of this one layed out. Maybe I was so busy feeling it and the huge mass of other yarns and stuff I just didn’t notice the intricate lacings of this one.
By the way, if any of you out there are unaware of Di’s “huge mass of other yarns”, well you’re really missing something! Hobby lobby’s got nothing on this gal!
The thing is, you’ve got me “hooked” again and even worse, you’ve turned me into a yarn snob ever since I saw that absolutely incredible, delicate, aerienne, wonder of a mystery shwal!!!!! I’ve got to have some kind of something like that! But you turned me into an ignorant yarn snob. I know nothing of weight, fiber, feel, how it works up…Teach me oh master! I floated around on some yarn sights but feel too intimidated to actually buy anything and besides, could I make anything that incredible with chunky old granny squareish crochet needles? And I just can’t remember how to knit!!! As if you could knit anything worth while anyway with the one cast on cast off thing you were able to teach me anyway! I dreamt of a new elephant quilt and crochet project last night. Gonna try it when I get done with what I’m working on.
Sorry, I’m breaking the blog rules again I guess. This should probably be an email but once I get going I just can’t stop!
    LOVE YOU and MISS YOU!!!!!!!!!!
